Perk Revolutionises Corporate Travel And Spending With AI

Perk, formerly known as TravelPerk, is a New London front that has recently undergone a complete change of identity and launched a landmark revolutionary platform which aims to transform corporate travel and spend management. This is achieved by Perk’s intelligent platform that integrates travel bookings with spend management. The goal is to help businesses around the world save precious time and reduce operational friction by removing clipping productivity bottlenecks.

The new brand identity encapsulates the company’s evolving vision of dealing with shadow work, which are non-core and invisible activities employees perform in addition to their primary roles. Perk’s platform is aimed at these processes, enabling employees to tackle more complex problem-solving tasks. The stifling boredom of managing such dated and grindy processes impacts productivity severely. Perk understands that these are the kinds of activities that employees would prefer to automate.

The term ‘shadow work’ refers to the tasks employees perform in addition to their primary job duties, often involving administrative work that could otherwise be automated. Research commissioned by Perk from Forrester Consulting highlights the staggering impact of shadow work on businesses. Across six major economies The United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands shadow work costs businesses approximately 1.7 trillion dollars annually.

According to the study, employees spend an average of seven hours per week on these non-core tasks, contributing to significant declines in focus and job satisfaction. These insights underscore the importance of automating routine processes and streamlining operations to reclaim valuable work time.

Perk’s new platform offers a suite of features designed to automate some of the most tedious business tasks, such as booking travel, filing expenses, managing invoices, and organizing team events. The platform is powered by artificial intelligence, enabling it to continuously improve its automation capabilities by learning from anonymised data across thousands of global transactions.

For businesses with remote or multinational teams, the platform provides a seamless, global solution that centralises control over travel and spending while simplifying approval workflows. The AI-driven technology learns from each employee’s individual travel patterns, ensuring that company policies are applied consistently across the organisation, regardless of location.

Perk’s intelligent platform also incorporates the newly introduced Spend Management capability, which automates the approval, processing, and reconciliation of expenses. The AI-powered module offers companies better oversight of spending while simplifying the administrative burden placed on employees.

In addition, Perk Pay allows companies to issue physical cards for business expenses, simplifying the payment process and enhancing fraud control. Every transaction is tracked, and the AI system automatically reconciles expenses, freeing up employees from manually filing and managing receipts.

As Perk approaches $300 million in annualised revenue, the company has grown into a global leader in travel and spend management. With over 1,800 employees across 12 international offices, including new headquarters in both Boston and London, Perk is positioning itself for accelerated growth.

The company’s expansion has been further bolstered by two strategic acquisitions in the past year and a successful Series E funding round. These developments underscore Perk’s commitment to developing cutting-edge technologies and building a global ecosystem that delivers efficiency and simplicity to businesses worldwide.

The demand for AI-driven tools is rapidly increasing, with Perk’s research revealing that approximately 70 perceent of employees are open to using AI tools to reduce shadow work. The automation of routine administrative tasks not only enhances productivity but also improves employee satisfaction, reducing burnout and promoting a better work-life balance.

Perk’s technology-driven approach to business travel management aligns with broader trends in the industry. As companies increasingly turn to artificial intelligence to streamline operations, Perk is positioning itself as a leader in the space, combining innovation with user-centric design to transform the future of work.

The rebranding of TravelPerk to Perk is successor in the management of corporate travel, and perhaps the most meaningful change to date for the UK’s tourism industry. Perk’s platform simplifying the management of seamless business trips can encourage domestic trips stepped in business activity and thus boost the ancillary tourism. The corporate travel booking automation can improve employee travel management workflows, thus more efficient employee travel and accommodation workflows, leading to sustainable and cost-efficient travel.

The evolution of business travel in the post-pandemic era Perk’s platform can increase not only the productivity of business, but also of the employees themselves. This allows for growth and development in multiple areas, especially the booming tourism market in the UK.
